Posting continued with the food and drink happenings!
- caroused Franklin Street and sampled all the beers at Topo! :) With my lil tasting pint in hand, I peered over the edge to see where the guy who tried to jump from the 3rd floor rooftop bar's brains were supposed to be. He was not successful in his attempt despite spilling his brains on the sidewalk.
- ate at a Waffle House! It was awfully quiet. I guess we were only there at 1am and the party doesn't start bumpin' til 3am. Maya, Alex, and I are ordered 2 cheeseburgers, 2 waffles, and a triple heaping serving of hashbrowns. I apparently inhaled the hashbrowns.
- had my first boba/bubbles/pear/tapioca in NC at Chill on Franklin. And it was downright not good. Too bland and mushy.
- made a trip to Grand Asia Market in Cary! After a month of being on the road and moving, it was definitely refreshing to see Asian brands and foods! :) chia su baos & tong yen gai lan galores! Stocked up $100+ worth of pantry and grocery items for the new apartment. And more inhaling: this time, the combo plate from the hot food counter.
- ate at a Bojangles! It seemed like such a great idea and we were hungry, til the first bite let loose hot chicken grease dripping onto your legs. The fixin's were really hit or miss. Thought we would be healthy and get green beans. Yeah, green beans stewed in lard and spices. The dirty rice was much better b/c it wasn't as greasy as expected from the name. I was surprised to have like their ice tea too! But I guess what isn't there to love about caffeine and sugar?
- Microbrews: Fullsteam and Topo! I think it's been established, I'm a porter kinda girl.
- ate at Guglhupf. Don't even ask me to try and pronounce this one. I believe it's German. They had some really yummy and filling sandwiches and sides. This was one of my first eating out experiences in D-ham and I was glad to have found it tucked along the side of 15-501. The dinner menu looks pretty reasonably priced (though I'm coming from CA so who knows!) and tasty as well.
