1-Month Anniversary in Durham (Forays Outside of the Triangle)

- visited Alex's hometown: Fayetteville! It has the designation (according to Alex) for being the halfway point between Miami and NYC for drug trade purposes. Ft. Bragg is massive and takes over the entire town. There are giant flea malls and tons and tons of strip malls. And Abhinov doesn't know how to drive.

- Maya and Joe and Alex came to visit for Labor Day weekend (it was actually just like any other weekend b/c I had class on Monday.) We drove out to the Outerbanks and it was incredible when we got there! I got so giddy hearing the ocean waves! :) Oh, how I miss you California! We stayed at condo rental in Emerald Isle and had a view of the Atlantic from our deck. We had our breakfasts and lunches out there. Alex somewhat absent minded-ly suggested that we watch the sunset on the beach until I reminded him that we were on the other side of the country.

- got a beautiful tan playing in the water and sun-bathing on the crowded beach b/c Hurricane Earl was supposed to stop by but decided the party was really out further east.
